How do I sign-up?
MessageDance is currently in a private beta release, which means
we are limiting the number of users who have access to the system. We
are constantly expanding our capacity, so go ahead and submit your
email address here and we'll send you an invite very soon.
If you have received an invitation, go ahead and click on the
invitation link. You will be taken to a page where you submit your
information required for MessageDance access. The email
address
you put in at sign-up time is very important as this is the email
address we will use to verify if you are a valid sender of messages
into the MessageDance system.

I've signed-up, now what?
Just after you confirmed your registration, we asked you to send your
first message. Assuming you didn't close your browser, :) you
can
see your first message in your DanceFloor MessageStream
(below, on second half of page). It also appears in MessageDance's
All Messages list
which is a public timeline of messages coming through MessageDance.
Remember, your MessageDance messages are public messages that anyone
can see. You can delete any message that has been sent to you
(including ones from you). You cannot delete messages that you send to
other people.
You're now ready to send
some messages (how to),
put
your widgets on other sites (how
to), and invite some
friends (how to).
You have a profile in MessageDance where you can assign (upload) an
avatar image as well as a background image that appears whenever you
are in MessageDance.com and when someone looks at your profile and
messages. Your
profile can be customized
to have all types of descriptions about what you are all about, website
links, whatever you want to put there. See Sam's profile
below
where you can put in "Other" fields with your own labels.

What do I do with my new
MessageDance email address?
Your MessageDance email address (<you>@messagedance.com)
is how you and your friends will
address email messages
you want to have appear in your MessageDance widgets and on
MessageDance.com. In order to send you messages, they will need to have
been accepted by you as a legitmate message sender. You can invite
friends yourself, or whenever someone emails your
MessageDance email address and they are
not one of your friends, they will get a bounce-back email telling them
they need to be accepted by you first.

Does it
make sense to send myself a message?
It sure does! We've found that our users are really enjoying using
MessageDance as a way to post
whatever they find interesting that they want to share.
You can do this by addressing your messages to yourself and the message
will go to all of the places you have MessageDance. If you have our Twitter
configuration (how to)
set up to send all of your messages to Twitter, sending it to yourself
will send it along as your Twitter update.
Give it a try. Just go to your email account you gave at sign-up time
and send a message to <you>@messagedance.com.

Can I assign multiple email address to my single MessageDance account?
Sure. Go to DanceFloor > Manage Email
and put in as many email address clients that you plan to send messages
and content from. For example, you can send tweets from your work email
and then send photos from the email account you use on your iPhone.
