What
are MessageDance messages?
You can send messages to yourself and your friends that everyone can
see on MessageDance widgets,
Twitter, and MessageDance.com.
Messages can be sent from your email account or through your DanceFloor.
Whatever format your email client can handle (rich text,
picture/video embeds), they can be sent to MessageDance and
appear wherever you want.

How do I send messages from email?
Send messages to yourself and your MessageDance friends by simply
addressing your email to <messagedance
user>@messagedance.com
from your email account you used when you signed up.

How do I send messages from
MessageDance.com?
From your DanceFloor,
you can send messages just like you would from
your email account. The drop-down field for "To" contains all of your
individual friends in MessageDance as well as "Tweet"
and "Friends".
Select the one you want the message to go to, put in Subject and Body
and send it. You can put in html rich format (such as embed code) into
the Body section.

How do I
send messages to Twitter?
You can configure
MessageDance (how to)
to send all of your messages to Twitter. This includes messages you
send to yourself and your friends. You also have the option to just
send messages you address to "tweet @ messagedance.com" to go to
Twitter. This can be done from your email account
or from your DanceFloor.

How can
I send photos and videos?
The easiest way is to just attach them as files in your email client
(you can do in-line pastes as well) and just send the email. Photos
will render as images and other files will show as icons with download
ability.
For doing html embeds such as copy and pasting from a webpage,
it
depends on the email client you use as to how to do this. It may
take some experimenting on your part to perfect it. If you have
specific questions, email support @ messagedanceinc.com and we'll
likely have a solution for you. Here's generally how to do it.
For
pictures, copy the image (and any other text)
from a
webpage by highlighting it with a cursor-drag (don't right-click and
save the image). Paste it into your email. This works great with Gmail
in "Rich Formatting" mode and won't work if you have a "text only"
email client. Give it a try as you can basically
copy a whole webpage and send it in email.
For YouTube
videos, you can embed the code in your email (see below)
or just go to YouTube.com and click on "Share" the video. Here you can
put in your MessageDance email address, your friends, "tweet @
messagedance.com", and even "friends @ messagedance.com". They all
work. You'll need to put in your YouTube
username into your Social
Profile and click Update for enabling the YouTube Share
feature.
To embed videos into your regular email message,
copy
and paste the "embed" code from YouTube (or other service that
has embed code available) into your email or into a DanceFloor
message.

Opposite of sending pictures, it actually works
best if you
send it in "text" format from your email client (shows up in both your
messages list and the message detail). You should experiment with your
email client to see which mide works best as some email clients will
let you copy and paste the actual video from one page into the email
page. Safari will let you actually drag and drop the video from one web
page into the email page.

pictures and videos you send regardless of how you send it. Sam has

Can
I send messages to all of my friends at once?
Yes! Just address your email to "friends @ messagedance.com". The
message goes to all of the places your MessageDance friends have placed
MessageDance. You can send the message from your email
account or from your DanceFloor.

Can
I delete messages?
You can delete messages that are sent to you. Look at your
MessageStream (also in MessageDance's
MessageStream) and you'll see a red delete link next to the
message. You can't delete messages you send to someone else (but you
can ask them to delete it). If your messages go to Twitter, you can go
to Twitter itself and delete it there.

Can anyone see
my messages?
Yes. They are publicly viewable and indexed by search engines. Your
messages will appear anywhere you put a MessageDance widget as well as
on MessageDance.com. They show up in your MessageStream and in the
public timeline (MessageDance's
MessageStream).

Can I put
attachments in my email messages?
You can! It can be an in-line paste into an email or a regular
attachment. It will be displayed in your MessageDance message as
in-line or as an attachment at the bottom. It works really well with
iPhones - just take a picture and send it through email to your
MessageDance friends or yourself.
