MessageDance Inc. (“MessageDance”) operates several websites and related services including MessageDance.com and its services. It is MessageDance’s policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our websites and services.
Like most website operators, MessageDance collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor (“Visitor”) request. MessageDance’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how MessageDance’s Visitors use its website (“Website”). From time to time, MessageDance may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its Website.
MessageDance also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. MessageDance does not use such information to identify its Visitors, however, and does not disclose such information, other than under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information, as described below.
Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information
Certain Visitors to MessageDance’s Websites choose to interact with MessageDance in ways that require MessageDance to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that MessageDance gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask Visitors who sign up at messagedance.com to provide a username and email address. We also allow Visitors to provide additional personally-identifying information at their discretion for display on their profile page. Such Visitors become a registered user (“User”) of the MessageDance Website and service (“Service”). In each case, MessageDance collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the User’s interaction with the MessageDance Website and Service. MessageDance does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And Visitors or Users can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Website-related activities.
A feature of the MessageDance Service is the routing of messages (“Messages”) by Users via email, sms, instant messaging, MessageDance.com submissions, and any future communication platform or service MessageDance may support. These Messages are displayed on a widget (“Widget”) placed by MessageDance Users on other websites outside of the control of MessageDance, Inc. When MessageDance Users submit information to their profile and send Messages through the MessageDance Service, this information may be publicly accessible via MessageDance.com or User Widgets. Use of this information, now in the public domain, is not the responsibility of MessageDance, Inc. Users take full responsibility for any use or distribution of copyrighted material.
MessageDance may collect statistics about the behavior of Visitors and Users to its Websites. MessageDance may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, MessageDance does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described above and below.
Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information
MessageDance discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on MessageDance’s behalf or to provide services available at MessageDance’s Websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using MessageDance’s Websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. MessageDance will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above, MessageDance discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only when required to do so by law, or when MessageDance believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of MessageDance, third parties or the public at large. If you are a User of a MessageDance Website or Service and have supplied your email address, MessageDance may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with MessageDance and our products. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other Users. MessageDance takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.
