I always wondered how come title of this song is never in the Song.but then I found out this. The chorus refrain is "What's Going On," but that's the name of a 1971 Marvin Gaye R&B classic, so they always called the song "What's Up." Such a history behind this song : The band started in San Francisco in 1989. Their first rehearsal was supposed to be on October 13th, but they had to cancel practice due to the the San Francisco earthquake.

Jamaica declares Reggae Month, kicking off four weeks of festivities

For music fans worldwide, Feb. 6 is a day to remember the musical and political contributions of Robert Nesta Marley, OM

Because Feb. 6, 1945 is the birthday of Robert Nesta Marley, the entire month is highly regarded on the Jamaican music calendar. February 2008, however, has taken on even greater significance. A recent proclamation by the Jamaican government has declared February as Reggae Month. During a Jan. 24 official announcement ceremony made at Kings House, the residence of Jamaica's Governor General, Jamaica's Prime Minister Bruce Golding noted the far-reaching influence of the island's indigenous music.

"There is no aspect of our culture that more clearly distinguishes us from the rest of the world than our music," he said. The Prime Minister noted that throughout his travels, "some people know Marcus Garvey and Michael Manley, one or two may have heard of (Prime Ministers) P.J. Patterson, Edward Seaga or even Bruce Golding. But there is no country in the world where Bob Marley is not known and recognized. Bob Marley personifies Jamaican music."

"Reggae is the unique music that springs from the creative imaginations of a diverse people to become our musical voice to the world," continued Jamaica's Governor General Sir Kenneth Hall. "The greatest ambassador of reggae, Robert Nesta Marley so internationalized this extraordinary musical form that wherever Jamaicans go, people associate us first with Marley, and then with the many artists who have gloriously contributed to exposing Jamaica's rich culture."

An abundance of reggae related activities are scheduled throughout Jamaica during February. Several events will be held in tribute to Bob Marley's musical legacy, which continues to exert an inordinate influence on popular culture nearly 27 years after his passing. (Based on radio airplay and sales of CDs/song downloads, Billboard Magazine ranked Bob as the second best-selling reggae artist for 2007, eclipsed only by Hasidic rapper Matisyahu. Bob Marley and the Wailers, meanwhile, ranked at number six). Throughout Reggae Month, Bob's songs will be recited by school children, examined in symposiums and performed by a multitude of Jamaican artists at assorted events including the Marley family's annual Africa Unite concert.

I got this google alert for MessageDance and I see Venturebeat.com has done a story on MessageDance (Congratulations MessageDance Team).

But then I see my Facebook widget on Venturebeat. HURRRAAYY!!.. ..I like it...Then I thought how come they got an handle to my widget on Facebook, but then I realized that I'm friends with One of the co-founders of MessageDance in Facebook, so he can see my widget. My music dedication to the world and friends is out there now. Reggae can move the world in a happy direction. Like Bob marley said "Everything is gonna be alright".

I have few things to clarify on this post thought, which I did not agree with the writer of this post Eric Eldon. I will probably comment on his post , but In general this is what I understand from MessageDance. Correct me if I'm wrong MessageDance team

Only service which lets me send email from my current email address (my gmail.com id) to Facebook, MySpace, Twitter (they have more places which I do not use, like blogs etc)
Does not sounds just like status update service, there are lot of possibilities I see here.
I like their fxxxx@xxxcom thingy... Exponential message distribution to friends and their destinations.

Anyways great job MD team so far . I will keep sending my music ga ga! to MD users. I will start reading Venturebeat now , sounds interesting to cover lot of upcoming companies.
