Silverface Pro Reverb Made Totally Out of Parts

Made a tuna sandwich which was okay but I should've thought ahead because I split the pita in two and it was messy. The tuna was totally dry just plain out of the can and big chunks fell out of my sandwich. But anyway I'm going to go see Tim Maag. That old Pro Reverb is done. Turns out the the speakers were wired out of phase, among other things. What a trip. Shouldn't I have heard that? Maybe I'm getting soft. Not really in the mood to drive way out there but maybe it will be kind of nice because it's a little overcast and I've got plenty to think about with this Shattered Atom record coming around and all that.

I'm thinking of putting rivets into one of my 20" K Custom Dark Rides. I love those cymbals, so maybe I'll love them even more with rivets in them? I think I just want to be like Brian Blade so instead of practicing I'll drill holes in my cymbals and thread metal shards into them.

On Monday I celebrated another birthday passing. We invited our closest friends over to celebrate. Our good friend Barrett Johnson played a few songs as well as Ryan Calhoun. We ended the evening by playing a new Christmas song we wrote called "Always Christmas". We recorded it live and plan on releasing it as a free download in the coming weeks. Thanks to our good friend Chris Foley for stepping in to play blass and friend Dallas Kruse for bringing his accordion along. I think you'll enjoy. We'll let you know when the song is posted.

As we mentioned on our myspace we were lucky enough to be selected to do the motion capture for Guitar Hero 4. Here are a few pictures from the long day at Neversoft. Our good friend Sam Gallagher from the Idyllists played bass with us. Yes we got to wear very tight suits and yes we looked very good in them.

Asia, Greece and The Fourth of July

Dan and I spent the fourth of July in San Diego doing the all American tradition of over eating and watching fireworks with the family. It felt like the good ol days. Jody (our manager) made mention that we'll be back in Greece a couple of weeks after Asia, all three of us were very excited to hear that. We've been continuing our work in the studio this past week, recording new material and finalizing our set list for the Asia dates. We will be featuring three new songs on this tour. Oh My God! (What Went Wrong) Sound Of Defeat Baby Hope everyone is doing well! Look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at our LA show on July 18th. -Josh

There's Always That

Was supposed to do this nightclub thing today but they blew it off. Must not have been as desperate as they led on. But who wants to be holed up in a downtown nightclub at 9AM anyway? I don't mind waiting up on them. I got some reading done and laid here on the little couch a bit just thinking about it. The bread would be nice.

We'll rehearse tonight. It'll be good to just write. And I've got a ton of maintenance I could do. There's always that. Pull the straplocks off the old Tele and get it ready to sell. Wipe it down. Take photos of all that other stuff to sell. I should get those hoops for the big DeLorean. That would mean getting the head too. I should do that. That resonant side's been so squirrelly.
